Who We Are

Christ Lutheran Church in Brea was started in 1962 by a group of Christians who believed the community of Brea could be served by a church founded on God's Word.  Over 60 years later we still believe that.  We are a group of sinners, whom Jesus died for, and whom are being slowly, and sometimes reluctantly changed to be more like our savior.  While we encourage either always to live like Christ, we also come together to remember that Christ's death and resurrection means even when we fail, we are still God's beloved children.

Each Sunday we gather to hear God's Word again, and remember who He is, and what He has done for us.  We receive the gifts of his Body and Blood through Holy Communion.  We also have many Bible Study opportunities on Sundays and during the week to have a better understanding of God and who He has made us to be.   Through the week we  have many ministries to serve the community at large, and our brothers and sisters in the church.  The largest of these ministries is our School (Kinder through 8th grade) and our Preschool.

We are a part of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS).

What We Do

Jesus told his disciplines that all of God's Commandments come down to two: Love the Lord your God, and Lord your neighbor as yourself.  We strive to life out this command towards each other, and the world around us.  We believe that living your faith is the most powerful witness to God's Word.

Jesus also told his disciples to "Go and baptize all nations in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, teaching them everything I have commanded you."  We believe this command is for all Christians.  We strive by our words and deeds to let others know about the saving work of Jesus Christ on the cross.
