The Staff of Christ Lutheran Church

Christ Lutheran Church is blessed to have a staff that is truly dedicated to Christ and accomplishing His will.
Following are brief bio's of our leadership team and their qualifications for ministry.

Joy Bermudez

Administrative Assistant to the Pastors

Joy was born in Michigan and grew up attending Salem Lutheran Church. 
She served Zion Lutheran Church in Anaheim, CA for many years as a volunteer, a Pre-Kingergarten teacher, the church office Administrative Assistant for 10 years, and set up and managed the Zion Thrift Shop. 
In 2012 Joy joined the staff at Christ Lutheran Church as the Administrative Assistant to the Senior Pastor, and has since taken on the responsibility for both Pastors. Living in Brea, Joy enjoys the short commute to and from work. 
Joy is blessed with a large family of children and grandchildren, and she loves spending her time with them and sharing in their many activities.

Philippians 4:13
I can do all this through him who gives me strength. 
Psalm 118:24
This is the day the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be happy today!

David Johnson

Director of Christian Education

David was born in Saginaw, Michigan but grew up primarily in Newton, North Carolina. David graduated with his Director of Christian Education Certification from Concordia University in St. Paul, Minnesota after a one-year internship in Chandler, Arizona.
After graduating, David joined the staff of Christ Lutheran Church in 2012 as Director of Christian Education. David serves as leader of the 5th and 6th grade, Jr. High, and High School Youth ministries. David also oversees Sunday School, Children’s Messages, Vacation Bibles School, and other family events. David is also the administrator of the Confirmation program.
David married his wife Ashley in 2013. They have a wonderful son named Micah!

We know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.

Tim Young

Technology Coordinator

Tim Young has been teaching computer software and technology systems most of his life. For his college final graduating project he setup the computer lab at Lone Hill Middle School in San Dimas. He was a help desk technician and field trainer for Allstate and ran the Computer Repair Department at the San Bernadino CompUSA. 
He has consulted fortune 500 corporations while working for Electronic Computer Specialties and Bird, Paton and Associates. 
He has been working for Christ Lutheran Church and School since 1999, and has taught classes since 2001. 
Tim's formal education includes a Minor in Business Management and a Major in Computer Information Systems.

Christian Ilten

Director of Media

Christian rejoined the staff of Christ Lutheran Church in October of 2020 after being away for 5 years, and now serves as the Technical & Social Media Coordinator. 
Christian previously worked with live streaming capabilities for live sporting events, and has brought his talents to the church to enable Christ Lutheran's services to be distributed into media devices all around the world.
He also serves as the webmaster for Christ Lutheran, and, creates and presents graphics for both in-worship use and the church's Facebook and Instagram accounts. 
Christian is married to his wife Sara, and they have a son named Noah!

See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are.

For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes.
