The Staff of Christ Lutheran Church

Christ Lutheran Church is blessed to have a staff that is truly dedicated to Christ and accomplishing His will.

Joy Bermudez

Administrative Assistant to the Pastors

Joy was born in Michigan and grew up attending Salem Lutheran Church. 
She served Zion Lutheran Church in Anaheim, CA for many years as a volunteer, a Pre-Kingergarten teacher, the church office Administrative Assistant for 10 years, and set up and managed the Zion Thrift Shop. 
In 2012 Joy joined the staff at Christ Lutheran Church as the Administrative Assistant to the Senior Pastor, and has since taken on the responsibility for both Pastors.

Joy's Favorite Bible Passages: 
Philippians 4:13
I can do all this through him who gives me strength. 
Psalm 118:24
This is the day the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be happy today!

Michelle Pavasars

Director of Christian Education (DCE)

Michelle is delighted to be serving as Director of Christian Education (DCE) at Christ Lutheran... again.  She served as DCE from 1996-2016, served as the Executive Director for KINDLE (2016-2024), and is excited about being back in congregational ministry. She loves getting to know the families, equipping people of all ages to use their God-given gifts to serve others, helping people dig into God's Word and grow into an ever-deepening relationship with Jesus.  


She is happily married to John and loves being mama to her children, Emily and Ethan.  Time with family and friends, sipping a good cup of tea, reading a book, being a cat mama to Luna and Elliott, and hanging out at the beach are some of her favorites.  God's Word is deeply precious to her and currently one of her favorite verses is Psalm 37:3 "Trust in the Lord and do good."

Tim Young

Technology Coordinator

Tim Young has been teaching computer software and technology systems most of his life. For his college final graduating project he setup the computer lab at Lone Hill Middle School in San Dimas. He was a help desk technician and field trainer for Allstate and ran the Computer Repair Department at the San Bernadino CompUSA. 
He has consulted fortune 500 corporations while working for Electronic Computer Specialties and Bird, Paton and Associates. 
He has been working for Christ Lutheran Church and School since 1999, and has taught classes since 2001. 
Tim's formal education includes a Minor in Business Management and a Major in Computer Information Systems.

Christian Ilten

Director of Media

Christian rejoined the staff of Christ Lutheran Church in October of 2020 after being away for 5 years, and now serves as the Technical & Social Media Coordinator. 
Christian previously worked with live streaming capabilities for live sporting events, and has brought his talents to the church to enable Christ Lutheran's services to be distributed into media devices all around the world.
He also serves as the webmaster for Christ Lutheran, and, creates and presents graphics for both in-worship use and the church's Facebook and Instagram accounts. 
Christian is married to his wife Sara, and they have a son named Noah!

See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. 
Romans 1:16
For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes.

Jennifer Gaston

Director of Traditional Music

Jennifer grew up in nearby Whittier and is a lifelong Lutheran. She has been the choir director at several Lutheran churches and taught general music at a local Christian School. She is blessed to be the Adult & Children's Choir Director at Christ Lutheran Church and School for the past ten years, and recently, she began teaching music at our school where her three children attend. It had always been a dream of hers to teach where her kids attend school. She currently sings in the Bonner Singers of which she has been a member for 23 years. She enjoys camping with her family in her free time.
