Your First Sunday at Christ Brea

Visiting a new church can feel overwhelming—but it doesn’t have to be.
This guide will walk you through what a typical Sunday looks like at Christ Lutheran Church & School
so you can arrive feeling comfortable and confident.

When You Arrive

When you arrive on campus, you’ll find parking available throughout our lot. We even have designated visitor parking near the front to help make your first visit easy.

As you walk in, you’ll be welcomed into a friendly and relaxed environment. If you have any questions, feel free to stop by the Welcome Center or ask someone nearby—we’re always happy to help.

Two Worship Services | One Message

We offer two worship services each Sunday, both centered on God’s Word and the message of Jesus Christ.

While the style may differ, the heart of each service remains the same.

8:00 AM — Traditional Worship

Our traditional service follows a historic liturgical format with hymns played by an organ.

Each service includes:
• Scripture readings
• Hymns
• Confession and Absolution
• A Sermon
• Holy Communion

This service is more structured and reflective, drawing from the richness of the Church’s worship throughout the centuries.

10:30 AM — Contemporary Worship

Our contemporary service offers a more relaxed setting with a live band leading modern worship music.

Each service includes:
• Scripture readings
• Worship songs
• Confession and Absolution
• A Sermon
• Holy Communion

While the style is different, the focus remains the same: hearing God’s Word and growing in faith.

Will I know what to do?

You don’t need to have anything figured out before you come. Our services are designed to guide you step by step, and everything you need to follow along will be provided.

Both services use screens throughout the service to display what’s happening—whether it’s the order of service, prayers like the Lord’s Prayer, or the songs we’re singing—so you’ll always be able to follow along.

Whether it’s standing, sitting, or singing, you’re welcome to participate as much or as little as you feel comfortable.

What Should I Wear?

You’ll see everything from casual attire to more traditional dress on a Sunday morning.
There’s no dress code—come in whatever you’re comfortable wearing.

Whether that’s jeans and a t-shirt or something more formal, you’ll fit right in.

Bringing Kids?

We believe it’s important for families to worship together, and children are always welcome in our services.

We also offer a nursery for children up to five years old, staffed by trained and background-checked caregivers, so parents can feel confident their children are safe and cared for.

During our Bible Study Hour between services, we offer Sunday School to help kids continue growing in their faith in an engaging and age-appropriate way.
