Have you ever wondered whether you're truly saved?
Maybe you've questioned whether your sins are too great, your faith is too weak, or you've somehow fallen short of what God expects.
In God's Choice, Rev. Dr. Bill Brunold shares an important reminder from 1 Thessalonians:
“For we know, brothers loved by God, that he has chosen you.” — 1 Thessalonians 1:4
What a comforting promise!
God's choice of us isn't based on how good we've been or how much we've accomplished.
It's based entirely on Jesus Christ.
✝️ Jesus died on the cross for our sins.
🌅 Jesus rose victorious from the grave.
❤️ Through Christ, God has called us His own.
And the Holy Spirit continues to strengthen and reassure us through God's Word, Baptism, and Holy Communion.
But being chosen by God isn't simply about receiving salvation and sitting back.
We've been chosen for a purpose.
In 1 Thessalonians, Paul celebrates how the believers became examples of faith to others. Even in suffering, they received the Gospel with joy, turned away from idols, and looked forward to Christ's return.
We're called to do the same.
🤲 Use the gifts God has given you to serve others.
🗣️ Share the Good News of Jesus Christ.
⛪ Support the work of His Church.
🙏 Live as an example of faith, hope, and love.
And when doubts creep in, remember this:
Your salvation rests on Jesus, not on you.
God has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.
You belong to Him.
