What does it mean to live a life truly rooted in Christ?
In the conclusion of our Sermon on the Mount series, Pastor Eric Clausen connects Jesus’ final teachings in Matthew 7 with our Church & School theme from Colossians 2:
Walk in Him. Rooted in Him. Built up in Him.
🌱 Bear Fruit — Faith isn't simply about knowing the right answers. Jesus calls His followers to live out what they believe, bearing the fruit of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
🌳 Be Rooted — Good fruit doesn't give a tree life; healthy roots do. In the same way, our actions don't save us. Salvation doesn't come from what we accomplish for Jesus, but from what Jesus has accomplished for us.
🪨 Build on the Rock — Jesus never promises that following Him will mean a life without storms. The storms will come. But when our lives are built upon Christ, He promises to see us through them.
As we begin a new school year, we're reminded that our strength isn't found in how big or impressive our faith looks.
What matters is what our faith is rooted in.
🌳 Rooted in Jesus.
🍎 Bearing good fruit.
🪨 Built upon the Rock.
