Christians don't always agree.

What kind of music should we use in worship? What should we wear to church? How should certain traditions be celebrated? What happens when two faithful Christians look at the same question and come to different conclusions?

In Who Am I to Judge?, Pastor Eric Clausen explores Romans 14 and an important Lutheran concept called adiaphora—things that God has neither explicitly commanded nor forbidden.

Paul gives us three important principles for navigating these questions:

🧭 Follow your conscience, not your flesh. Christian freedom isn't simply permission to do whatever we prefer. We seek what we genuinely believe honors God.

⚖️ Don't judge another's servant. Faithful Christians can sometimes reach different conclusions. When Scripture has not declared something sinful, we don't get to condemn a brother or sister who chooses differently.

❤️ Let love be your guide. Sometimes loving our neighbor even means willingly giving up a freedom we have for their sake.

And that's exactly what Jesus did for us.

Christ gave up the glory and freedom of His throne, came into our world, and suffered death on a cross so that we could be saved.

We have tremendous freedom in Christ. The question is: How will we use it?

May we use our freedom to love God and love one another.
