Talking about money in church can be uncomfortable.
But Jesus talked about money quite a bit. And there's a good reason for that.
“For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” — Luke 12:34
In Your Money Shows Your Faith, Pastor Eric Clausen challenges us to consider a simple but important question:
Does the way we use our money reflect the faith we profess?
It's easy to say we trust God. It's another thing entirely to trust Him with our finances.
We live in a world that tells us cash is king. But as Christians, we know that Jesus is King. đź‘‘
Pastor Eric reminds us of something fascinating about Jesus' words:
❤️ Our hearts follow our treasure.
When we begin putting our resources toward the things of God, our hearts begin following too.
So what does that look like?
🤲 Be generous. Look for opportunities to bless others rather than simply accumulating more for yourself.
⛪ Support God's work. Use the gifts He's entrusted to you to help spread the Gospel and support the ministry of His Church.
🙏 Take the next step. Whether that means giving for the first time, giving regularly, or growing in generosity, prayerfully consider where Jesus is leading you.
But there's one thing we must never forget:
We don't give to earn God's love.
✝️ God already loves us so much that He sent His Son to die for our sins.
Giving more won't make God love you more. Giving less won't make Him love you less.
His love and forgiveness are already yours through Jesus Christ.
Now, as His redeemed children, we're invited to put that faith into action.
Put your treasure in the hands of our good King Jesus—and trust Him.
